Heute klingelt der Wecker schon um 5:30 Uhr. Auch heute wache ich an einem wunderbaren Platz auf. Auf der Brücke sind schon früh Menschen und Mopeds unterwegs. Für mich beginnt der Tag stressig. Da ich ja um 8 startklar sein will. Nachdem ich mich gewaschen habe, packe ich die Sachen zusammen und baue das Zelt ab. Zwischendurch koche ich Kaffee für uns. Punkt 8 bin ich fertig. Für Leo ist es dann aber in Ordnung, wenn ich noch kurz mein Müsli frühstücke. Um 8:30 Uhr verlassen wir diesen wunderbaren Platz und wandern weiter. Bis nach Bogovë sind es 15 km. So wie gestern fahre ich immer mal ein Stück, um mit Leo, der sehr zügig geht, mithalten zu können.
Gegen 12:30 Uhr erreichen wir den Ort Bogovë. Hier kaufen wir in einem kleinen Geschäft Lebensmittel. Und fragen nach dem Weg zum Wasserfall. Es sind noch etwa 4 km. Dann wandern wir dorthin.
Ich schiebe das Rad. Der Weg wird immer „unwegsamer" Sehr bald schaffe ich es nicht mehr Leo zu folgen. Ich komme mit dem schweren Rad kaum noch vorwärts. Einige Wanderer kommen mir entgegen. Sie sagen „it is not possible to go with bike to the waterfall“ Ich gehe zunächst weiter. Es wird immer beschwerlicher. Ich komme wieder an meine körperliche Belastungsgrenze. Aber so schnell gebe ich nicht auf. Das erinnert mich an meine Fahrradtour 2019, als ich das Rad durch eine Schlucht im Schwarzwald geschoben habe. Vor einer Brücke geht es sehr steil bergauf. Andere Wanderer helfen mir, das Rad hochzutragen. Dann geht es nach der nächsten Brücke nicht weiter. Der Weg ist so steil und eng, dass ich das schere Rad nicht hinaufbekomme. Leo kommt zurück. Auch zu 2. schaffen wir es nicht, das Rad durch die Engstelle zu hieven. Und er sagt, dass spätestens ein Stück weiter Schluss ist. Auf dem schmalen Grad am Abhang ist es wirklich nicht möglich mit dem Rad zu gehen. Ich lass das Rad liegen und gehe zu der Stelle. Und ja….ich sehe ein, dass es nicht möglich ist. Es fällt mir schwer, mir das einzugestehen.
Ich gehe zurück zum Rad. Gemeinsam tragen wir es ein Stück zurück. Dann lasse ich es bei der Brücke stehen. Zunächst gehen wir etwa 1 km weiter zum Wasserfall. Es ist allerdings nicht möglich direkt dort zu zelten. In unmittelbarer Nähe ist eine wunderschöne Wiese. Dort am Fluss (der hier ein Bach ist) ist ein idealer Platz. Ich gehe zurück zum Fahrrad um meine Sachen zu holen. Leo kommt später nach. Gemeinsam bringen wir alles was ich brauche zu unserem Zeltplatz. Dann bauen wir die Zelte direkt am Wasser auf. Und machen ein Lagerfeuer in einer der Feuerstellen. Später machen wir uns noch etwas zu essen.
Und ich rufe über WhatsApp meine Schwester an, die heute Geburtstag hat.
Trinkwasser holen wir uns vom Wasserfall.
Es ist ein toller Nachmittag und Abend an einem wunderbaren Platz in der Natur.
Hin und wieder kommen Wanderer vorbei. Später kommt aus den Bergen eine sehr große Herde Ziegen. Begleitet von 5 oder 6 großen Hunden und dem Schäfer. Es ist ein imposantes Ereignis die vielen Ziegen und Hunde zu beobachten.
Auch dieser Tag ist ein weiterer Höhepunkt meiner Reise.
Ab etwa 22 Uhr schlafe ich.
Wir sind 15 km bis nach Bogovë gewandert.

Tuesday, 18 May
Today the alarm clock rings already at 5:30 am. Also today I wake up in a wonderful place. There are people and mopeds on the bridge early. The day starts stressfully for me. I want to be ready to start at 8am. After I have washed, I pack up my things and take down the tent. In between I make coffee for us. At 8 sharp I am ready. But Leo doesn't mind if I have a quick breakfast of muesli. At 8:30 we leave this wonderful place and continue our hike. It is 15 km to Bogovë. Just like yesterday, I ride a bit at a time to keep up with Leo, who walks very briskly.
Around 12:30 we reach the village of Bogovë. Here we buy food in a small shop. And ask for the way to the waterfall. It is still about 4 km. Then we walk there.
I push the bike. The path becomes more and more "impassable" Very soon I don't manage to follow Leo anymore. I can hardly make any progress with the heavy bike. Some hikers come towards me. They say "it is not possible to go with bike to the waterfall". It becomes more and more difficult. I reach my physical limits again. But I don't give up that easily. This reminds me of my 2019 bike tour, when I pushed the bike through a gorge in the Black Forest. Before a bridge, it goes very steeply uphill. Other hikers help me to carry the bike up. Then it doesn't go any further after the next bridge. The path is so steep and narrow that I can't get the shear bike up. Leo comes back. Even the second time we can't get the bike through the narrow section. And he says that it's over a little further on at the latest. It is really not possible to walk with the bike on the narrow grade on the slope. I leave the bike and go to the spot. And yes....I realise that it is not possible. It is hard for me to admit this to myself.
I go back to the bike. Together we carry it back a little way. Then I leave it at the bridge. First we walk about 1 km further to the waterfall. However, it is not possible to camp directly there. There is a beautiful meadow in the immediate vicinity. There by the river (which is a stream here) is an ideal place. I go back to the bike to get my things. Leo follows later. Together we bring everything I need to our campsite. Then we pitch the tents right by the water. And make a campfire in one of the fireplaces. Later we make ourselves something to eat.
And I call my sister via WhatsApp, who has her birthday today.

It is a great afternoon and evening in a wonderful place in nature.
Every now and then, hikers pass by. Later, a very large herd of goats comes out of the mountains. Accompanied by 5 or 6 big dogs and the shepherd. It is an impressive event to watch the many goats and dogs.
This day is another highlight of my journey.
From about 10 pm I sleep.
