Dienstag, 28. Dezember
Heute wache ich um etwa 8:30 Uhr auf. Ich bleibe aber zunächst im Bett. Chatte mit Freunden und bin bei Facebook. Diese morgendliche Zeit ist mir sehr wichtig geworden. Um 10 stehe ich auf. Und wasche mich. Gegen 11 geh ich runter. Ich esse Müsli mit Obst, Joghurt und Honig. Auch meine Zitrone trinke ich wieder mit heißem Wasser und Honig. Das ist ein guter Start in den Tag.
Später geh ich wieder in mein Zimmer. Ich aktualisiere mein Tagebuch und lade es als Bericht hoch. Um 13 Uhr ist mein Blog (ohne Fotos) wieder aktuell.
Dann überrascht Hilal mich mit einem tollen Essen. Sie hat Brot mit Ei überbacken. Mit Honig und Käse ist das sehr lecker.
Heute wollen wir wieder nach Ayvalik in die Stadt. Hilal fährt mit Bus. Um die Maskenpflicht zu umgehen, fahre ich mit Fahrrad. Gegen 14 Uhr schiebe ich mein Rad raus. Dabei bleibt meine Flagge an einem Ast hängen. Die Fahnenstange bricht ab. Aber das ist kein Problem. Innerhalb weniger Minuten behebe ich es. Die Stange ist jetzt etwas kürzer.
Um 14:10 Uhr fahre ich los. Heute ist schönes Wetter. Und es ist recht warm. Um 14:45 Uhr bin ich in Ayvalik. Ich setze mich zunächst wieder in das tolle Café, wo ich neulich schon war. Und bestelle mir auch wieder die super leckere Waffel. Heute mit Latte.
Um 15:45 Uhr schreibt Hilal mir. Sie ist ganz in der Nähe. Wir treffen uns in der Fußgängerzone. Und verbringen den Nachmittag in dieser wundervollen Stadt. Das Fahrrad schließe ich bei einer Moschee an. Wir gehen zu Fuß durch die Stadt. Hilal zeigt mir Häuser und Gassen, die ich normalerweise nicht gesehen hätte. Ich mache viele tolle Fotos. Es ist eine wunderbare und etwas andere Stadtführung. In diese Gassen verirrt sich kaum ein Tourist. Das passt für mich. Ich sehe mich ja auch nicht als normaler Tourist. Eher als Reisender. Zwischendurch machen wir an verschiedenen Orten Teepause. Unter anderem im Theater. Im SANAT FABRİKASI (Kunstfabrik) findet heute Abend ein Konzert statt.
Und ich chatte mit meiner guten online Freundin Vanessa aus Deutschland. Wir kennen uns noch nicht persönlich. Aber trotzdem verstehen wir uns super! Heute ergibt es sich, dass wir als Paar zusammen sind. Jetzt bin ich glücklich! Dieser Tag ist wundervoll!
Am frühen Abend gehen Hilal und ich in einem Restaurant etwas essen. Iskedender Kebap. Mit Vorsuppe. Es ist sehr lecker und reichhaltig. Danach bin ich pappsatt!
Heute hab ich sehr viel gegessen. Mir ist fast schlecht.
Nach dem Essen gehen wir nochmal zum Theater, das sich im Gebäude einer ehemaligen Fabrik befindet. Das Konzert hat schon angefangen. Wir können trotzdem noch rein. Niemand sagt etwas, dass ich ohne Maske reingehe. (Wie ich später auf der Homepage vom Theater lese, wird normalerweise sogar ein HES verlangt.)
Es ist ein wunderbarer Auftritt. Mit wunderschönem Gesang und Geigen. Ganz anders als die Rock- und Metal Konzerte auf denen ich in Deutschland war.
Als das Konzert zu Ende ist, gehen Hilal noch kurz in einem Supermarkt einkaufen. Um Ärger zu vermeiden, setze ich die Maske kurz (zum Schein) auf. Ich trage sie unter dem Kinn. Allerdings sagt niemand etwas dazu. Sogar einige der Angestellten tragen die Maske unter dem Kinn. Ich kann diesen Humbug und den Supermarkt allgemein trotzdem nicht ertragen. In Supermärkten fühle ich mich grundsätzlich unwohl. Kaufe nur schnell das was ich mit Hilal abgesprochen hatte. Und warte dann draußen auf sie. Meinen Einkauf verstaue ich im Rucksack und auf dem Fahrrad. Das ist ohne Fahrradtaschen gar nicht so einfach.
Dann fahr ich zurück. Dieses Mal auf dem direkten Weg, der besser beleuchtet ist. Und ich hab heute auch Licht am Fahrrad. Um etwa 21:45 Uhr bin ich wieder bei Hilal.
Ich verbringe den Rest des Abends in meinem Zimmer. Chatte mit Vanessa. Und mit Freunden.
Christine aus Hannover möchte im August 2025 nach Japan kommen. Und am 06.08. mit mir im Friedenspark Hiroshima sein. Das ist toll! Ich kenne Christine ja durch die Montagsmahnwachen für Frieden 2014 in Hannover. Und Christine war beim Start dieser Fahrradreise dabei. Es wär etwas ganz besonderes für uns beide, wenn sie auch am Zielort Hiroshima dabei ist.
Ab 23 Uhr schlafe ich.
Ich habe heute insgesamt 28 km zurück gelegt.
Dieser 28. Dezember war ein wunderbarer Tag für mich.

Ayvalik - A special city walk
Tuesday, 28 December
Today I wake up at about 8:30. I stay in bed for the time being though. Chat with friends and am on Facebook. This morning time has become very important to me. At 10 I get up. And wash myself. Around 11 I go downstairs. I eat muesli with fruit, yoghurt and honey. I also drink my lemon again with hot water and honey. It's a good start to the day.
Later I go back to my room. I update my diary and upload it as a report. At 1 pm my blog (without photos) is up to date again.
Then Hilal surprises me with a great meal. She has baked bread with egg. With honey and cheese, it's very tasty.
Today we want to go to Ayvalik again. Hilal goes by bus. To avoid the mask requirement, I cycle. Around 2 pm I push my bike out. In the process, my flag gets caught on a branch. The flag pole breaks off. But that's not a problem. Within a few minutes I fix it. The pole is now a bit shorter.
At 14:10 I set off. The weather is nice today. And it is quite warm. At 14:45 I am in Ayvalik. I first sit down again in the great café where I was the other day. And I order the super delicious waffle again. Today with a latte.
At 15:45 Hilal writes to me. She is very close by. We meet in the pedestrian zone. And spend the afternoon in this wonderful city. I hitch up the bicycle at a mosque. We walk through the city. Hilal shows me houses and alleys that I would not normally have seen. I take many great photos. It is a wonderful and somewhat different city tour. Hardly any tourists stray into these alleys. That suits me. I don't see myself as a normal tourist. More like a traveller. In between, we take a tea break at various places. In the theatre, among other places. There is a concert tonight at the SANAT FABRİKASI (art factory).
And I chat with my good online friend Vanessa from Germany. We don't know each other personally yet. But we still get along great! Today it turns out that we are together as a couple. Now I am happy! This day is wonderful!
In the early evening Hilal and I go out for something to eat in a restaurant. Iskedender Kebap. With starter soup. It is very tasty and rich. Afterwards I am stuffed!
I have eaten a lot today. I almost feel sick.
After dinner we go to the theatre again, which is in the building of a former factory. The concert has already started. We can still go in. Nobody says anything about me going in without a mask. (As I read later on the theatre's homepage, they normally even require a HES).
It is a wonderful performance. With beautiful singing and violins. Quite different from the rock and metal concerts I've been to in Germany.
When the concert is over, Hilal goes shopping in a supermarket. To avoid trouble, I put the mask on briefly (for show). I wear it under my chin. However, nobody says anything about it. Even some of the employees wear the mask under their chin. I still can't stand this humbug and the supermarket in general. I always feel uncomfortable in supermarkets. I just quickly buy what I had agreed on with Hilal. And then wait for her outside. I put my shopping in my backpack and on my bike. That's not so easy without bicycle panniers.
Then I cycle back. This time I take the direct route, which is better lit. And I also have lights on my bike today. At about 21:45 I am back at Hilal's place.
I spend the rest of the evening in my room. Chat with Vanessa. And with friends.
Christine from Hanover wants to come to Japan in August 2025. And be with me in the Hiroshima Peace Park on 6 August. That's great! I know Christine through the Monday Vigils for Peace 2014 in Hanover. And Christine was there at the start of this bicycle tour. It would be something very special for both of us if she were also there at the destination in Hiroshima.
I sleep from 11 pm onwards.
I covered a total of 28 km today.
This 28 December was a wonderful day for me.
