<Das war der letzte Tag in Ogulin

Ich wache vor dem Wecker klingeln um 6:30 Uhr auf. Als erstes rasiere ich mich und dusche.
Um 8 fahre ich mit Krešimir zu Dolores. Zum Kaffee. Es ist wie so oft in der letzten Zeit. Und doch ist es anders. Für mich das letzte Mal. Um 9 verabschiede ich mich. Aber wir sehen uns wieder. Die Schwester von Dolores wohnt in Split. Dort treffen wir uns.
Krešimir und ich fahren zum Café beim Plodine Supermarkt. Zum letzten Mal. Ich bekomme vom Inhaber Getränke für die Fahrt. Dann fahren wir zu seiner Mutter zum Frühstück. Eier von den eigenen Hühnern. Ich werde das gute Essen vermissen. Auch hier bekomme ich Unterstützung für meine weitere Reise. Nach dem Frühstück bin ich nochmal in meinem Apartment. Ich packe die letzten Sachen aufs Fahrrad. Von Krešimir hab ich einen neuen Spanngurt bekommen. Der ist richtig gut. Und ich hab mein Gepäck reduziert. Das Rad ist jetzt viel besser beladen als vorher. Außerdem sichere ich die Sachen auf dem vorderen Gepäckträger noch extra. Damit ich nichts mehr verliere. Das einzige Problem ist mein neuer Wasserkanister. Den hab ich ja letztes Jahr hier in Ogulin gekauft. Er war sehr günstig. Aber er taugt nichts. Ich hab mal wieder billigen Schrott gekauft. Der Deckel hat keine Dichtung. Und der Ablasshahn ist total sperrig. Und unpraktisch. Und er ist undicht! Krešimir hilft mir, und dichtet den Deckel provisorisch ab. Es wird erstmal gehen. In Rijeka fahr ich zu Decathlon. Und kaufe mir einen vernünftigen Wasserkanister. Von Krešimir bekomme ich eingeschweißte selbstgemachte Wurst.
Zum Schluss sauge ich das Apartment nochmal durch.
Gegen 13 Uhr bin ich startklar. Ich verabschiede mich von Krešimir. Wir bleiben in Kontakt. Er hat Freunde in Rijeka. Und wird für mich eine Übernachtungsmöglickeit organisieren.
Um 13 Uhr fahr ich los. Ich verlasse mein Winterquartier in Ogulin. Mein erstes Ziel ist Rijeka. Das sind 92 km. Ich fahre nach der Komoot App.
Nach etwa 5 km hab ich die erste Panne. Mein linkes Pedal fällt auseinander. Die Schraube die ich neulich erneuert hab, ist abgerissen. Ich repariere es provisorisch mit Kabelbinder. Es wird erstmal gehen. Dann fahr ich weiter. Bei einem kurzen Stop esse ich die restlichen Paladine von Dolores. Anfangs komme ich bei bestem Wetter gut voran. Etwa um 15:40 Uhr erreiche ich Vrbosko. Diese Kleinstadt ist etwa 20 km von Ogulin entfernt. In der Stadt schiebe ich das Rad. Es geht teilweise bergauf. Und wenn ich schiebe komme ich besser in Kontakt mit den Menschen. Ich werde mehrmals angesprochen. Eine liebe Frau füllt meine Wasserflasche auf. Und schenkt mir noch eine große Flasche Wasser. Das Wasser ist sehr klar und frisch. Gegen 18 Uhr verlasse ich Vrbosko. Es wird dunkel. Grad rechtzeitig entdecke ich im letzten Tageslicht eine schöne Wiese. Hier bleibe ich heute Nacht. Im Dunkeln baue ich mein neues Zelt auf. Gut, dass ich es letztes Jahr schon probeweise aufgebaut hab. Gelegentlich brauche ich doch Licht. Aber diese Wiese ist so abgelegen, da fällt das niemandem auf. Dabei bin ich nur etwa 2 km von Vrbosko entfernt. Und ganz in der Nähe verläuft die Autobahn nach Split. Das Zelt aufbauen dauert sehr lange. Etwa um 20:30 Uhr liege ich darin. Ich richte mich ein. Und schreibe später noch meinen Tagesbericht von gestern. Und lerne 5 Minuten kroatische Vokabeln mit der App. Meine Zitrone trinke ich ab jetzt wieder mit kaltem Wasser. Bis ich schlafe, ist es etwa 22:30 Uhr.
Ich bin zwar erschöpft. Aber sehr glücklich.
Ich bin heute etwa 20 km gefahren. Und hab das Rad etwa 5 km geschoben.

I wake up before the alarm clock rings at 6:30am. First I shave and take a shower.
At 8 I drive with Krešimir to Dolores. For coffee. It's like so many times recently. And yet it is different. The last time for me. At 9 I say goodbye. But we'll meet again. Dolores' sister lives in Split. We meet there.
Krešimir and I drive to the café near the Plodine supermarket. For the last time. I get drinks from the owner for the journey. Then we drive to his mother's for breakfast. Eggs from his own chickens. I will miss the good food. Here, too, I get support for my further journey. After breakfast I am back in my flat. I pack the last things on the bike. From Krešimir I got a new tension gurt. It is really good. And I reduced my luggage. The bike is now much better loaded than before. I also secure the things on the front carrier. So I don't lose anything anymore. The only problem is my new water canister. I bought it here in Ogulin last year. It was very cheap. But it's no good. I bought cheap junk again. The lid has no seal. And the drainage tap is totally bulky. And impractical. And it leaks! Krešimir helps me and seals the lid provisionally. It will work for now. In Rijeka I go to Decathlon. I buy a decent water canister. From Krešimir I get shrink-wrapped homemade sausage.
Finally, I vacuum the flat again.
Around 1 pm I am ready to go. I say goodbye to Krešimir. We stay in touch. He has friends in Rijeka. He will organise a place for me to stay overnight.
I leave at 1 pm. I leave my winter quarters in Ogulin. My first destination is Rijeka. That is 92 km. I follow the Komoot app.
After about 5 km I have the first breakdown. My left pedal falls apart. The screw I replaced the other day is torn off. I repair it provisionally with cable ties. It will work for now. Then I ride on. At a short stop I eat the rest of Dolores' paladins. At first I make good progress in good weather. At about 15:40 I reach Vrbosko. This small town is about 20 km from Ogulin. In the town I push the bike. It is partly uphill. And when I push, I come into better contact with the people. I am approached several times. A kind woman fills my water bottle. And gives me another big bottle of water. The water is very clear and fresh. Around 6 pm I leave Vrbosko. It is getting dark. Just in time I discover a beautiful meadow in the last light of day. I stay here tonight. I set up my new tent in the dark. It's good that I set it up last year as a trial. Occasionally I do need light. But this meadow is so remote that no one notices. And I'm only about 2 km away from Vrbosko. And the motorway to Split runs nearby. It takes a long time to pitch the tent. At about 20:30 I lie down in it. I settle in. And later I write my daily report from yesterday. And learn 5 minutes of Croatian vocabulary with the app. From now on, I drink my lemon with cold water again. By the time I sleep, it's about 10:30 pm.
I am exhausted. But very happy.
I rode about 20 km today. And pushed the bike for about 5 km.
