Montag, 17. Juni
Wegen der Hitze dauert es lange, bis ich einschlafe.
Um 6:10 Uhr klingelt der Wecker.
Erstmal dusche ich.
Das ist ein guter Start in den Tag.
Ich werde ab jetzt jeden morgen zumindest kurz duschen.
Ab 7 Uhr arbeite ich.
Ich mache dort weiter, wo ich Freitag aufgehört hatte.
Wieder entferne ich den ganzen Tag Wildwuchs am Zaun.
Ab 12 ist Mittagspause .
Nach dem Mittagessen trinke ich meine Zitrone. Auch heute wieder mit Mango. Dann mache ich Mittagsschlaf auf dem Bett.
Ab etwa 14:30 Uhr schreibe ich Tagebuch.
Um 16 Uhr arbeite ich weiter.
Ich mache mit Ishwar aus, dass ich jetzt abends zum Essen auch auf der Farm bleibe.
Als er dann fährt, mache ich Feierabend.
Erstmal dusche ich und schrubbe meine Sandalen.
Etwaum 21:10 Uhr bringt Iswar mir das Abendessen.
Ich esse auf dem Bett.
Ab etwa 21:50 Uhr liege ich im Zelt.
Ich schreibe weiter Tagebuch.
Aber es ist extrem heiß im Zelt!
Obwohl ich nackt bin, bin ich innerhalb von Minuten durchgeschwitzt.
Das Schreiben ist sehr beschwerlich.
Der Schweiß tropft auf das Handy.
So hat das keinen Zweck.
Den Rest des Abends döse ich.
Und schlafe ab etwa Mitternacht.
Der Tag war geldfrei.
Monday, 17 June
It takes me a long time to fall asleep because of the heat.
The alarm clock rings at 6.10am.
First I take a shower.
It's a good start to the day.
From now on, I'll take at least a quick shower every morning.
I start work at 7am.
I pick up where I left off on Friday.
I spend the whole day removing wild growth from the fence again.
It's lunch break from 12 noon.
After lunch, I drink my lemon. Again today with mango. Then I take a nap on the bed.
I write in my diary from around 2.30 pm.
I get back to work at 4 pm.
I agree with Ishwar that I'll stay at the farm for dinner in the evening.
When he leaves, I call it a day.
First I take a shower and scrub my sandals.
Iswar brings me dinner at around 9.10 pm.
I eat on the bed.
I lie in the tent from around 9.50 pm.
I continue writing my diary.
But it's extremely hot in the tent!
Although I'm naked, I'm drenched in sweat within minutes.
Writing is very difficult.
The sweat drips onto my mobile phone.
It's no use like this.
I doze off for the rest of the evening.
And sleep from about midnight.
The day was money-free.
Dienstag,18. Juni
Heute wache ich schon um 6 auf.
Erstmal dusche ich und weiche die Wäsche von gestern ein.
Ab 7 arbeite ich.
Auch heute entferne ich den ganzen Tag Wildwuchs am Zaun.
Es ist ein sehr heißer Tag.
Heute ist die Musik auf dem Trecker deutlich leiser.
Vormittags sind mehrere Tierärzte auf der Farm.
Etwa um 12:30 Uhr ist Mittagspause.
Erstmal hänge ich die Wäsche auf.
Dann ruhe ich mich aus.
Dann bringt Ishwar mir Mittagessen.
Es gibt angebratenes Gemüse (Ladyfinger) und Roti.
Dazu Buttermilch. In die Buttermilch presse ich mir pro Glas 2 kleine Zitronen.
Es ist so viel Buttermilch, dass es für 2 Gläser reicht.
Ab 14:40 Uhr schreibe ich Tagebuch.
Um 16 Uhr arbeite ich weiter.
Gegen Abend wird nebenan der Bagger weggebracht.
Etwa um 19 Uhr mache ich Feierabend.
Ich dusche erstmal und schrubbe meine Sandalen.
Den Abend verbringe ich im Zelt.
Es ist allerdings sehr heiß darin!
Wenn ich den Eingang auf lasse, kommen Mücken und Ameisen herein. Aber das ist dann so.
Nur so ist es einigermaßen erträglich.
Ich creme mich gründlich mit Mückenschutz ein.
Gegen 22 Uhr bringt Iswar mir das Abendessen.
Ab etwa 23:15 Uhr schlafe ich.
Der Tag war geldfrei.
Tuesday, 18 June
I wake up at 6am today.
First I take a shower and soak yesterday's washing.
I start work at 7.
Today I also spend the whole day clearing wild growth from the fence.
It's a very hot day.
The music on the tractor is much quieter today.
There are several vets on the farm in the morning.
Lunch break is at about 12.30pm.
First I hang up the washing.
Then I have a rest.
Then Ishwar brings me lunch.
I have sautéed vegetables (ladyfingers) and roti.
Served with buttermilk. I squeeze 2 small lemons into each glass of buttermilk.
There is enough buttermilk for 2 glasses.
I write in my diary from 2.40 pm.
I continue working at 4 pm.
Towards evening, the digger is taken away next door.
I finish work at around 7 pm.
I take a shower and scrub my sandals.
I spend the evening in the tent.
It's very hot in there though!
If I leave the entrance open, mosquitoes and ants come in. But that's the way it is.
It's the only way to make it bearable.
I thoroughly apply mosquito repellent.
Iswar brings me dinner around 10 pm.
I sleep from around 11.15 pm.
The day was free of money.
Mittwoch, 19. Juni
Wieder ist es extrem heiß im Zelt!
Immer wieder wache ich auf.
Als es kurz nach 5 hell wird,(und die Mücken weg sind) gehe ich raus. Ich schlafe dann noch eine Stunde auf dem Bett.
Es ist wunderschön mit dem Vogelgezwitscher einzuschlafen.
Und hier draußen ist es angenehm kühl.
Um 6:10 Uhr klingelt Wecker.
Ich gehe erstmal kurz duschen.
Dann räume ich das Zelt auf.
Ab 7 arbeite ich.
Zunächst entferne ich wieder Wildwuchs am Zaun.
Heute ist es deutlich kühler als die letzten Tage.
Heute fahren keine Trecker mehr vorbei.
Ab etwa 8 sind mehrere Männer auf der Farm.
Ishwar wurde als einer der Farmer ausgewählt, die eine Unterstützung von der Regierung bekommen.
Die Japanische Regierung hat Gelder für indische Farmer bereit gestellt.
Davon bekommt Ishwar eine neue Silopresse.
Es ist die Silageverpackungsmaschine “Silopack 4D S20”
Diese Maschine steht schon auf dem Hof. Heute wird sie in Betrieb genommen.
Dazu sind Ingenieure und Mitarbeiter der Firma Vidhata auf der Farm.
Zunächst werden Montagearbeiten vorgenommen.
Ishwar hat sich einen Trecker geliehen.
Damit wird die Maschine betrieben.
Allerdings passt die Zapfwelle nicht.
Und muss umgebaut werden.
Es dauert lange, bis die Maschine Einsatzbereit ist.
Zwischendurch schneidet Iswar Gras. Das legen wir für den Probelauf bereit.
Inzwischen sind sehr viele Menschen auf der Farm.
Die Maschine wird feierlich eingeweiht.
Ishwar und ich bekommen eine Einweisung.
Dann machen wir den Probelauf.
Innerhalb kurzer Zeit produzieren wir aus dem Grasschnitt 2 Säcke Silofutter.
Im Anschluss sitzen wir noch mit den Mitarbeitern der Firma zusammen.
Dann versuchen wir die Maschine mit dem Trecker unters Dach zu fahren.
Aber im montierten Zustand ist sie zu hoch. Es passt nicht.
In der Mittagspause fahre ich mit Ishwar zum Wohnhaus zum Essen.
Nachmittags decken wir die Maschine mit einer großen Plane ab.
Das ist recht zeitaufwendig.
Später arbeite ich noch eine Weile am Zaun weiter.
Etwa um 19:15 Uhr mache ich Feierabend.
Ich gehe duschen und schrubbe meine Sandalen.
Ab etwa 20:30 Uhr liege ich auf dem Bett neben meinem Zelt.
Es ist windig und angenehm kühl.
Auch heute creme ich mich gründlich mit Mückenschutz ein.
Um 21 Uhr bringt Iswar mir das Essen.
Es gibt Linseneintopf.
Ab etwa 21:40 Uhr liege ich im Zelt.
Heute ist es nicht ganz so heiß.
Ich schreibe noch eine Weile an meinem Tagebuch.
Ab etwa 22:40 Uhr schlafe ich.
Der Tag war geldfrei.
Ich habe heute die Benachrichtigung erhalten, dass meine Rente ab 1.7. erhöht wird.
Wednesday, 19 June
It's extremely hot in the tent again!
I wake up again and again.
When it gets light shortly after 5 (and the mosquitoes have gone) I go out. I then sleep on the bed for another hour.
It's wonderful to fall asleep to the sound of birdsong.
And it's pleasantly cool out here.
The alarm goes off at 6.10am.
I take a quick shower first.
Then I tidy up the tent.
I start work at 7.
I start by clearing the wild growth from the fence.
It's much cooler today than the last few days.
No more tractors drive past today.
From around 8, there are several men on the farm.
Ishwar has been selected as one of the farmers who will receive support from the government.
The Japanese government has made funds available for Indian farmers.
Ishwar will receive a new silage baler.
It is the silage packing machine "Silopack 4D S20"
This machine is already on the farm. It will be put into operation today.
Engineers and employees from Vidhata are on the farm for this purpose.
Assembly work is carried out first.
Ishwar has borrowed a tractor.
This is used to operate the machine.
However, the PTO shaft does not fit.
And has to be modified.
It takes a long time before the machine is ready for use.
In between, Ishwar cuts grass. We prepare it for the test run.
There are now a lot of people on the farm.
The machine is officially inaugurated.
Ishwar and I get a briefing.
Then we do the trial run.
Within a short time, we produce 2 bags of silage from the grass cuttings.
Afterwards, we sit together with the company employees.
Then we try to drive the machine under the roof with the tractor.
But it's too high when assembled. It doesn't fit.
During the lunch break, I drive with Ishwar to the house for lunch.
In the afternoon, we cover the machine with a large tarpaulin.
It's quite time-consuming.
Later, I continue working on the fence for a while.
I finish work at around 7.15 pm.
I take a shower and scrub my sandals.
From around 8.30 pm, I lie on the bed next to my tent.
It's windy and pleasantly cool.
Today, too, I thoroughly apply mosquito repellent.
At 9 pm Iswar brings me dinner.
It's lentil stew.
I lie in the tent from around 9.40 pm.
It's not quite so hot today.
I write in my diary for a while.
I sleep from about 22:40.
The day was free of money.
I received notification today that my pension will be increased from 1 July.
Donnerstag, 20. Juni
Heute Nacht ist es nicht ganz so heiß im Zelt wie die letzten Nächte.
Etwa ab 4:30 Uhr schlafe ich wieder draußen auf dem Bett.
Um 6:10 Uhr klingelt der Wecker.
Ich dusche schnell und weiche meine Wäsche von gestern ein.
Dann räume ich das Zelt auf.
Ab 7 arbeite ich.
Heute entferne ich wieder den ganzen Tag Wildwuchs am Zaun.
Gegen 9 bringt Ishwar mir Frühstück.
Auch heute Mittag fahr ich mit zum Wohnhaus.
Ich will mein Moskitonetz holen.
Etwa um 13:40 Uhr fahren wir zurück zur Farm.
Außer dem Moskitonetz nehme ich Klamotten (T-Shirts usw.) sowie mein altes Zelt mit.
Ich wasche schnell meine Wäsche.
Dann mache ich Mittagsschlaf.
Ab 16 Uhr arbeite ich weiter.
Dann kommt ein Freund von Ishwar zu Besuch. Bharat ist Lehrer und hat in einem benachbarten Dorf eine Privatschule.
Er lädt mich zu sich ein. Nach den Sommerferien Anfang Juli soll ich mal in seine Schule kommen.
Heute mache ich schon etwas eher Feierabend.
Ich will ja noch vor dem Dunkel werden das Moskitonetz über meinem Bett anbringen.
Das ist einfach. Ich befestige es mit Karabinerhaken an den Zweigen vom Mangobaum.
Ab jetzt kann ich Moskitofrei draußen schlafen!
Um etwa 20 Uhr gehe ich duschen und meine Sandalen schrubben.
Den Abend verbringe ich auf dem Bett unter dem Moskitonetz.
Um etwa 21:30 Uhr bringt Ishwar mir Abendessen.
Gegen Mitternacht schlafe ich unter dem Moskitonetz.
Der Tag war geldfrei.
Thursday, 20 June
Tonight it's not quite as hot in the tent as the last few nights.
I sleep outside on the bed again from about 4.30am.
The alarm clock rings at 6.10am.
I take a quick shower and soak my washing from yesterday.
Then I tidy up the tent.
I work from 7 onwards.
Today I spend the whole day removing wild growth from the fence.
Around 9, Ishwar brings me breakfast.
I go back to the house for lunch today.
I want to get my mosquito net.
We drive back to the farm at about 13:40.
Apart from the mosquito net, I take clothes (T-shirts etc.) and my old tent with me.
I quickly wash my clothes.
Then I take a nap.
I continue working from 4 pm.
Then a friend of Ishwar's comes to visit. Bharat is a teacher and has a public school in a neighbouring village.
He invites me to visit him. He wants me to come to his school after the summer holidays at the beginning of July.
I finish work a little earlier today.
I want to put the mosquito net over my bed before it gets dark.
That's easy. I attach it to the branches of the mango tree with snap hooks.
From now on I can sleep outside mosquito-free!
At around 8pm, I take a shower and scrub my sandals.
I spend the evening on the bed under the mosquito net.
At around 9.30 pm Ishwar brings me dinner.
Around midnight I sleep under the mosquito net.
The day was free of money.
Freitag, 21. Juni
Ich schlafe sehr gut und Mückenfrei.
Gegen 6 gehe ich duschen.
Und ich weiche die Wäsche von gestern ein.
Ab 7 arbeite ich.
Ich entferne den letzten Wildwuchs am Zaun.
Um 12 Uhr ist Mittagspause.
Erstmal telefoniere ich lange über WhatsApp mit Vanessa.
Um 13:30 Uhr bringt Iswar mir Mittagessen. Es gibt Bohnen mit Reis. Dazu Buttermilch. Die trinke ich wieder mit Zitrone.
Dann wasche ich die Wäsche.
Ab 15 Uhr schreibe ich Tagebuch.
Ab 16 Uhr arbeite ich weiter.
Etwa um 18:30 Uhr ist am Zaun alles komplett sauber.
Ich mache Feierabend.
Erstmal dusche ich. Und schrubbe meine Sandalen.
Auch heute verbringe ich den Abend unter dem Moskitonetz.
Etwa um 21 Uhr bringt Ishwar mir Abendessen.
Ab 22:15 Uhr schreibe ich Tagebuch.
Bis ich dann schlafe, ist es etwa 1:15 Uhr.
Meine Arbeitshose ist durch die Dornenbüsche zerrissen.
Das nähen ist nicht mehr möglich.
Ich entsorge sie. Ishwar wird sie mit den Grünabfällen verbrennen.
Eine Müllabfuhr gibt es hier ja nicht.
Die Hose war eine der beiden Hosen, die ich in der Türkei bei Decathlon gekauft hatte.
Der Tag war geldfrei.
Friday, 21 June
I sleep very well and mosquito-free.
I take a shower around 6.
And I soak yesterday's washing.
I start work at 7.
I remove the last of the wild growth from the fence.
It's lunch break at 12 noon.
First I have a long WhatsApp call with Vanessa.
At 1.30 pm Iswar brings me lunch. Beans with rice. With buttermilk. I drink it with lemon again.
Then I do the washing.
I start writing in my diary at 3 pm.
I continue working from 4 pm.
Around 6.30 pm, everything is completely clean at the fence.
I call it a day.
First I take a shower. And scrub my sandals.
I spend the evening under the mosquito net again today.
Ishwar brings me dinner at around 9 pm.
From 10.15 pm I write in my diary.
By the time I'm asleep, it's about 1.15am.
My work trousers are torn by the thorn bushes.
Sewing is no longer possible.
I dispose of them. Ishwar will burn them with the green waste.
There's no rubbish collection here.
The trousers were one of the two pairs I bought from Decathlon in Turkey.
The day was money-free.
