Montag, 01. Mai (Tag 46 in Bangladesch) - Maifeiertag
Ich wache kurz vor dem Wecker klingeln gegen 8 auf. Erstmal rasiere ich mich und dusche. Dann wasche ich meine Wäsche. Später gehe ich ins Restaurant frühstücken. Es gibt Reis mit Gemüse.
Den Anruf beim Amt kann ich mir sparen. Die Mitarbeiterin ruft mich an. Und sagt, dass ich vorbei kommen kann. Mein Antrag wurde aktualisiert. Ich brauche nur noch bezahlen. Dann wird er von der Botschaft bearbeitet.
Um 10 fahr ich los. Um Zeit zu sparen nehme ich für den kurzen Weg zur Bushaltestelle eine Fahrradritschka. Dann fahr ich wieder mit Bus zum Jamuna Future Park. Heute ist die Fahrt recht entspannt und zügig. Da ja Feiertag ist, sind deutlich weniger Menschen unterwegs als sonst.
Um 11 komme ich beim Visa Center im Jamuna Future Park an. Die Visastelle ist trotz Feiertag geöffnet. Aber auch hier ist verhältnismäßig wenig los. Ich kann sofort zu Visa Schalter gehen. Und ja- ich brauche tatsächlich nur noch bezahlen. Es ist allerdings viel teurer als erwartet. (Und als mir vor 1 Monat gesagt wurde) Insgesamt bezahle ich 11.930 Taka (ca. 100€) Das ist immer noch etwas günstiger als in Islamabad.
Falls der Visaantrag abgelehnt wird, ist das Geld verloren.
Und ich muss meinen Reisepass abgeben.
Auf dem Beleg steht als Abholdatum 08. Juni! Das ist aus meiner Sicht absolut utopisch.
Ich kann nur hoffen, dass es nicht so lange dauert.
Etwa um 11:45 Uhr verlasse ich das Visa Center.
Ich trinke noch einen Eiscafé im benachbarten Cafe.
Gegen 13 Uhr fahre ich mit Bus zurück zum Raiza Bazar. Diesmal dauert die Fahrt nur etwa 45 Minuten. Ich gehe dann zu Fuß weiter. Und überlege, dass ich noch eine Kleinigkeit essen könnte.
Also gehe ich in ein Café. Und esse Burger.
Ab etwa 15 Uhr bin ich wieder im Radhakanta Temple.
Wie immer dusche ich nochmal.
Ab 16:30 Uhr bin ich am Tablet. Schreibe einen Facebook Post und chatte mit Freunden.
Gegen 20 Uhr gehe ich nochmal in die Stadt. Heute esse ich Pizza. Sie ist super lecker!
Aber auch recht teuer. Insgesamt zahle ich fast 600 Taka. Aber heute gönne ich mir das mal.
Etwa ab 23:15 Uhr bin ich wieder im Tempel.
Etwa ab Mitternacht schlafe ich.
Ich hab endlich mein Visa für Indien beantragt.
Dabei setze ich auf volles Risiko.
Es ist durchaus möglich, dass meine restliche Bangladesch Visum Zeit nicht ausreicht.
Mein Bangladesch Visum endet am 14. Mai.
Die Bearbeitungszeit für das Indien Visum kann bis Mitte Juni dauern!
Ich kann das Bangladesch Visum nicht noch einmal verlängern.
Und ich hab (bis ich das Indien Visum bekomme) keinen Pass. Kann nichts machen.
Kann das Land nicht verlassen. Wohin auch?!
Aber ich bleibe im Vertrauen.
Irgendwie wird es schon gut gehen.
Im schlimmsten Fall zahle ich halt eine Geldstrafe. Oder weitere Gebühren.
Aber das ist dann so.
Ich sehe diesen Visa Krimi mittlerweile als ein krasses Abenteuer, dass mir immer in Erinnerung bleiben wird. Ein weiterer Höhepunkt meiner Reise.
Application for India Visa
Monday, 01 May (Day 46 in Bangladesh) - May Day
I wake up shortly before the alarm clock rings around 8. First I shave and take a shower. Then I wash my clothes. Later I go to the restaurant for breakfast. I have rice with vegetables.
I don't need to call the office. The employee calls me. And says that I can come by. My application has been updated. All I have to do is pay. Then the embassy will process it.
I leave at 10. To save time, I take a bicycle rickshaw for the short way to the bus stop. Then I take the bus again to the Jamuna Future Park. Today the ride is quite relaxed and quick. As it is a public holiday, there are far fewer people on the road than usual.
At 11am I arrive at the Visa Centre in the Jamuna Future Park. The visa centre is open despite the holiday. But here, too, there is relatively little going on. I can go straight to the visa counter. And yes - all I have to do is pay. But it is much more expensive than expected. (And than I was told 1 month ago) In total I pay 11,930 Taka (approx. 100€) This is still a bit cheaper than in Islamabad.
If the visa application is rejected, the money is lost.
And I have to hand in my passport.
The receipt says 08 June as the collection date! That is absolutely utopian from my point of view.
I can only hope that it won't take that long.
I leave the Visa Centre at about 11:45.
I have another ice cream in the neighbouring cafe.
Around 13h I take the bus back to Raiza Bazaar. This time the journey takes only about 45 minutes. I then continue on foot. And think that I could eat a snack.
So I go to a café. And eat burgers.
From about 3 pm I am back at Radhakanta Temple.
As usual, I take another shower.
From 4.30 pm I am at the tablet. Write a Facebook post and chat with friends.
Around 8 pm I go into town again. Today I eat pizza. It is super delicious!
But also quite expensive. I pay almost 600 taka in total. But today I treat myself.
From about 23:15 I am back at the temple.
From about midnight I sleep.
I have finally applied for my visa for India.
I'm taking a full risk.
It is quite possible that my remaining Bangladesh visa time will not be enough.
My Bangladesh visa expires on 14 May.
The processing time for the India visa may take until mid-June!
I cannot extend the Bangladesh visa again.
And I don't have (until I get the India visa) a passport. Can't do anything.
Can't leave the country. Where to?!
But I'm keeping the faith.
Somehow it will work out.
In the worst case, I'll just pay a fine. Or further fees.
But that's the way it is.
In the meantime, I see this visa crime thriller as a crass adventure that will always stay in my memory. Another highlight of my trip.
