Montag, 03. Oktober (Tag 3 im Iran)
Gegen 5:30 Uhr wache ich schon vor dem Wecker klingeln auf.
Jetzt geht das Internet ja wieder. Aber ohne VPN nützt es mir nichts. Ich versuche zunächst mehrere gratis VPNs herunter zu laden und zu installieren. Aber das scheitert immer wieder. Entweder finde ich sie gar nicht erst. Oder ich kann sie nicht herunterladen. Der Download startet einfach nicht.
Ich verbringe etwa 2 Stunden erfolglos damit. Dann breche ich es erstmal ab. Und gehe mich waschen. Heute „dusche“ ich in der Toilette mit dem Wasserschlauch.
Morgens kommt Rehza. Er holt meine Schuhe ab. Und bringt sie zum Schuster.
Morgens bittet mich einer der Arbeiter, die den Park pflegen, mein Zelt in einer der Hütten aufzubauen. Er hilft mir dabei. Da die Hütte Betonfußboden hat, kann ich die Heringe nicht verwenden. Aber das Zelt steht auch so.
Wir frühstücken dann wieder zusammen. Später kommt Rehza wieder. Er bringt mir meine Schuhe zurück. Die wurden sehr günstig repariert. Die Sohlen sind jetzt angenäht.
Und er hat 100 Dollar in Rial gewechselt. Dafür bekomme ich 33 Millionen Rial. Bündelweise Geldscheine.
Tim und Katharina haben Internet. Sie hatten schon in Armenien Express VPN installiert. Einige der anderen haben das, so wie ich auch versäumt. Und haben jetzt ähnliche Probleme.
Es funktioniert offenbar nur mit dem kostenpflichtigen Express VPN. Die ganzen gratis VPN versagen.
Wer das noch nicht vorher gemacht hat, kann jetzt nur versuchen, einen gratis VPN herunterzuladen. Den zu installieren. Und damit Express herunterzuladen.
Mir bleibt nichts anderes übrig. Die anderen wollen heute nochmal in die Stadt.
Ich bleibe auf dem Campingplatz. Und kümmere mich um mein Internet.
Ich verbringe einige Stunden damit. Irgendwann schaffe ich es mehrere gratis VPN herunterzuladen. Cyber Ghost funktioniert über Brasilien. Damit kann ich über Umwege Express VPN herunterladen. Ich installiere die App. Es dauert nochmal sehr lange, bis ich mich registriert habe. Ich nutze zunächst die 10 Tage- gratis Version. Danach wird es automatisch ein kostenpflichtiges Abo.
Dann dauert es noch länger, bis ich über Brasilien eine Verbindung aufgebaut habe. Um etwa 13:45 Uhr bin ich online. Meine Apps funktionieren! Das installieren der App auf dem Tablet geht dann schnell.
Jetzt kann Handy und Tablet normal nutzen. Und sogar meine Homepage bearbeiten.
Kaum bin ich online, gehen erstmal sehr viele Nachrichten ein. Ich verbringe etwa 2 Stunden damit, die wichtigsten zu beantworten. Und die wichtigsten Facebook Kommentare zu lesen und zu beantworten.
Etwa um 16 Uhr kommen die anderen zurück.
Wir sitzen dann noch zusammen.
Um 17:15 Uhr gehe ich nochmal kurz zu dem Lebensmittelgeschäft in der Nähe. Ich will Milch fürs Frühstück kaufen. Aber die gibt es nicht. Also kaufe ich Kakao in kleinen Flaschen.
Abends haben alle meine deutschen Freunde auf dem Campingplatz Internet über Express VPN.
Wir essen Abendbrot und sitzen dann noch zusammen.
Ab 22 Uhr schlafe ich. Morgen will ich wieder früh aufstehen, um mein Tagebuch zu aktualisieren.
At the campsite
Monday, 03 October (Day 3 in Iran)
Around 5:30 I wake up before the alarm clock rings.
Now the internet is working again. But without VPN it is no use to me. First I try to download and install several free VPNs. But that fails again and again. Either I can't find them at all. Or I can't download them. The download just doesn't start.
I spend about 2 hours without success. Then I break it off for the time being. And go and wash myself. Today I "shower" in the toilet with the water hose.
In the morning Rehza comes. He picks up my shoes. And takes them to the cobbler.
In the morning, one of the workers who take care of the park asks me to put up my tent in one of the huts. He helps me. As the hut has a concrete floor, I cannot use the pegs. But the tent stands anyway.
We have breakfast together again. Later Rehza comes back. He brings back my shoes. They have been repaired very cheaply. The soles are now sewn on.
And he changed 100 dollars into rial. In return I get 33 million rial. Bundles of banknotes.
Tim and Katharina have internet. They had already installed Express VPN in Armenia. Some of the others missed it, like me. And now they have similar problems.
Apparently it only works with the paid Express VPN. All the free VPNs are failing.
Those who have not done this before can now only try to download a free VPN. Install it. And use it to download Express.
I have no other choice. The others want to go into town again today.
I'll stay at the campsite. And take care of my internet.
I spend several hours on it. Eventually I manage to download several free VPNs. Cyber Ghost works via Brazil. With it, I can download Express VPN in a roundabout way. I install the app. It takes another long time for me to register. I first use the 10-day free version. After that, it automatically becomes a paid subscription.
Then it takes even longer until I have established a connection via Brazil. At about 13:45 I'm online. My apps are working! Installing the app on the tablet then goes quickly.
Now I can use my mobile and tablet normally. And I can even edit my homepage.
As soon as I'm online, a lot of messages start coming in. I spend about 2 hours answering the most important ones. And reading and answering the most important Facebook comments.
Around 4 pm the others come back.
We sit together for a while.
At 5:15 pm I go to the grocery shop nearby for a short while. I want to buy milk for breakfast. But there is no milk. So I buy cocoa in small bottles.
In the evening, all my German friends at the campsite have Internet via Express VPN.
We eat supper and then sit together.
From 10 pm I sleep. Tomorrow I want to get up early again to update my diary.
