Sonntag, 10. Oktober
Auch an diesem Sonntag klingelt der Wecker um 6. Ich schreibe wieder als erstes Tagebuch. Den Bericht von Freitag. Und kopiere ihn zu Facebook. Dann wasche ich mich und packe meine Sachen zusammen. Heute lasse ich mir Zeit. Um 12 bin ich startklar. Und kurz darauf wieder auf der D100.
Etwa um 12:30 mache ich am Straßenrand eine längere Pause. Hier liegt sehr viel Müll. Aber ich finde eine Stelle, die einigermaßen müllfrei ist. Setze mich auf meinen Rucksack und esse Müsli mit Ayran. Dann telefoniere ich über WhatsApp mit meiner Schwester und Freunden in Deutschland. Außerdem möchte ich heute gucken was mit meiner Homepage los ist. Warum ich die nicht bearbeiten kann. Ich vermute, dass es an der türkischen Internetzensur liegt. Ein Facebook Freund hilft mir. Und gibt mir den Tipp einen VPN Dienst zu nutzen, um die Sperre zu umgehen. Aber das klappt nicht. Ich breche es zunächst ab. Und fahre um 14:20 Uhr weiter.
Komme dann an einer Tankstelle vorbei. Hier fülle ich meinen Wasserkanister auf. Hab dann Probleme mit dem befestigen der beiden Kanister. Ein junger Mann spricht mich an. Er lädt mich zu Tee und Baguette ein. Wir unterhalten uns lange. Um 16:15 Uhr verabschieden wir uns. Und ich fahre weiter.
Eine Stunde später erreiche ich die Großstadt Lüleburgaz. Am Ortsschild möchte ich ein Foto machen. Kann das Fahrrad aber nicht anlehnen. Dort liegen Scherben. Ich versuche gerade, ob es so steht…
Dann werde ich von einer jungen Frau angesprochen. Zunächst auf englisch. Ob ich schon einen Schlafplatz in Lüleburgaz habe. Schnell stellt sich heraus, dass sie auch aus Deutschland kommt. Susi ist mit dem Fahrrad auch in Dresden gestartet. Und möchte bis nach China fahren. Wir unterhalten uns eine Weile. Sie macht das Foto von mir am Ortsschild. Susi übernachtet hier in Lüleburgaz in der Bike Akademy. Dort wird für Fahrradreisende eine kostenlose Übernachtungsmöglichkeit angeboten. Man kann duschen und Wäsche waschen. Es gibt WLAN und eine Küche. Susi hat das über Wharmshowers gefunden. Und mich vorhin überholt. Der „Manager" der Bike Akademy hatte mich ebenfalls gesehen. Und Susi losgeschickt, um mich abzuholen. Das ist super! Also fahr ich mit ihr zur Bike Akademie. In der Lüleburgaz Yıldızları Motosiklet ve Bisiklet Akademisi werden wir herzlich begrüßt. Und jetzt erwartet mich eine weitere tolle Überraschung. Lex ist auch hier! Außerde noch ein junges Paar aus Deutschland. Ich bin wirklich geflasht! Ich richte mich in einem Zimmer mit Lex ein. Werde mindestens für 2 Nächte hier bleiben.
Lex teilt sich eine Waschmaschine mit mir. Wir hängen die Wäsche dann zusammen auf.
Als ich später etwas Ruhe habe, gucke ich im WLAN nochmal nach meiner Homepage. Jetzt funktioniert sie! Das ist super! Also werde ich so lange hier bleiben, bis ich die letzten Berichte und Fotos hochgeladen habe. Heute lade ich nur noch den umfangreichen Bericht über meine Grenzüberquerung hoch.
Dann trinke ich noch meine Zitrone.
ab 0:45 Uhr schlafe ich.
Ich bin heute 20 km gefahren.
Sunday, 10 October
This Sunday, too, the alarm clock rings at 6. I write my diary first thing again. The report from Friday. And copy it to Facebook. Then I wash and pack my things. Today I take my time. At noon I'm ready to go. And shortly afterwards back on the D100.
At about 12:30 I take a long break at the side of the road. There is a lot of rubbish here. But I find a spot that is reasonably free of rubbish. I sit down on my backpack and eat muesli with Ayran. Then I make a WhatsApp call to my sister and friends in Germany. I also want to see what's wrong with my homepage today. Why I can't edit it. I suspect it's because of the Turkish internet censorship. A Facebook friend helps me. He gives me the tip to use a VPN service to bypass the block. But that doesn't work. I cancel it for the time being. And drive on at 2:20 pm.
Then I pass a petrol station. Here I fill up my water canister. Then I have problems fixing the two canisters. A young man approaches me. He invites me to tea and a baguette. We talk for a long time. At 16:15 we say goodbye. And I drive on.
An hour later I reach the big town of Lüleburgaz. At the town sign I want to take a photo. But I can't lean my bike against the sign. There are broken pieces of glass. I'm trying to see if it stands like this...
Then I am approached by a young woman. First in English. She asks if I already have a place to sleep in Lüleburgaz. It soon turns out that she is also from Germany. Susi also started in Dresden with her bike. And wants to cycle all the way to China. We talk for a while. She takes my photo at the town sign. Susi is staying here in Lüleburgaz at the Bike Academy. There is free accommodation for bicycle travellers. You can take a shower and do your laundry. There is Wi-Fi and a kitchen. Susi found it through Wharmshowers. And passed me earlier. The "manager" of the Bike Academy had also seen me. And sent Susi to pick me up. That's great! So I drive with her to the Bike Academy. At the Lüleburgaz Yıldızları Motosiklet ve Bisiklet Akademisi we are greeted warmly. And now another great surprise awaits me. Lex is here too! And also a young couple from Germany. I am really flashed! I settle into a room with Lex. Will stay here for at least 2 nights.
Lex shares a whashingmachine with me. We then hang the laundry up together.
Later, when I have some peace and quiet, I check my homepage again on the WLAN. Now it works! That's great! So I will stay here until I have uploaded the last reports and photos. Today I'll just upload the extensive report about my border crossing.
Then I drink my lemon.
From about 0:45 I sleep.
I rode 20 km today.
