Etwa um 7 wache ich auf. Ich wasche mich im Vorzelt. Dann frühstücken Anna und ich an ihrem Tisch. Ich esse Müsli. Und trinke meine Zitrone mit warmen Wasser. Anschließend wasche ich das Frühstücksgeschirr ab. Anna möchte heute nach Saranda fahren. Spontan fahre ich mit. Also packen wir unsere Sachen zusammen. Ich baue das Zelt ab.
Wir verabschieden uns. Und fahren zurück zum Campingplatz. Dort dusche ich schnell. Dann packe ich noch ein paar Sachen ein.
Mittags fahren wir los. Zunächst nach Gjirokastra. Den Weg kenne ich ja bereits. In Gjirokastra machen wir einen Einkaufstopp. Wir kaufen Getränke, Gemüse, Obst (unter anderem eine halbe Wassermelone) und Brot. Dann hole ich uns vegetarisches Baguette zum Mittagessen. Nach dem wir gegessen haben, fahren wir weiter.
Etwa um 16 Uhr erreichen wir die Touristenstadt Saranda an der Küste. Wir fahren zunächst ins Zentrum. Hier sind sehr viele Hotels. Der Strand sieht von weitem toll aus. Aber wir fühlen uns hier nicht wohl. Es sind zu viele Menschen. Und es ist zu kommerziell. Also fahren wir weiter.
Unser nächstes Ziel ist der etwa 15 km entfernte Badeort Ksamil. Nach einer kurzen Fahrt kommen wir dort an. Wir parken zunächst und gucken zu Fuß wie wir zum Strand kommen. Dann erleben wir eine freudige Überraschung. Auf einmal begegnet uns Jimmy! Er ist ebenfalls zu Fuß unterwegs. Sein Van steht ganz in der Nähe am Strand. Es ist ein wunderbarer Ort. Hier bleiben wir. Wir parken neben ihm. Später baue ich mein Zelt auf. Auch hier ist der Boden sehr hart. Jimmy hat eine Axt. Damit bekomme ich die Heringe hinein. Später zeigt uns Jimmy einen anderen schönen Strand in der Nähe. Hier baden wir. Die Abkühlung tut gut. Es ist heute sehr heiß. Dann zeigt Jimmy uns die nahe gelegene Dusche. Es gibt nur kaltes Wasser. Das ist bei der Hitze ebenfalls eine tolle Erfrischung. Abends macht Jimmy Lagerfeuer. Ich schneide Gemüse für Salat. Jimmy bestellt Pizza. Die wird hierher geliefert. Wir essen Pizza und Salat. Zum Nachttisch gibt es Wassermelone. Und ich esse noch die restlichen Nudeln von gestern. Danach bin ich pappsatt! So viel hab ich schon lange nicht mehr gegessen. Wir sitzen dann noch am Lagerfeuer zusammen. Am Strand gegenüber ist Musik und Party. Ich hätte Lust dorthin zu gehen. Bin dann aber doch zu müde. Um etwa 23 Uhr löschen wir das Feuer.
Ich schlafe ab etwa 23:30 Uhr.

Tuesday, 22 June
At about 7 I wake up. I wash up in the awning. Then Anna and I have breakfast at her table. I eat muesli. And drink my lemon with warm water. Afterwards I wash the breakfast dishes. Anna wants to go to Saranda today. On the spur of the moment, I go with her. So we pack up our things. I take down the tent.
We say goodbye. And drive back to the campsite. I take a quick shower there. Then I pack a few more things.
We leave at noon. First to Gjirokastra. I already know the way. In Gjirokastra we make a shopping stop. We buy drinks, vegetables, fruit (including half a watermelon) and bread. Then I get us vegetarian baguette for lunch. After we have eaten, we drive on.
Around 4 pm we reach the tourist town of Saranda on the coast. First we drive to the centre. There are a lot of hotels here. The beach looks great from far away. But we don't feel comfortable here. There are too many people. And it is too commercial. So we drive on.
Our next destination is the seaside resort of Ksamil, about 15 km away. After a short drive we arrive there. First we park and see how to get to the beach on foot. Then we experience a pleasant surprise. All of a sudden we meet Jimmy! He is also on foot. His van is parked very close to the beach. It is a wonderful place. Here we stay. We park next to him. Later I put up my tent. The ground is very hard here too. Jimmy has an axe. I use it to get the pegs in. Later, Jimmy shows us another beautiful beach nearby. Here we swim. It feels good to cool down. It is very hot today. Then Jimmy shows us the nearby shower. There is only cold water. That is also a great refreshment in this heat. In the evening Jimmy makes a campfire. I cut vegetables for salad. Jimmy orders pizza. It is delivered here. We eat pizza and salad. For the night table we have watermelon. And I eat the leftover noodles from yesterday. Afterwards I'm stuffed! I haven't eaten that much in a long time. We sit together around the campfire. There is music and a party on the beach opposite. I would like to go there. But then I am too tired. At about 11 pm we put out the fire.
I sleep from about 11.30 pm.
