Noch ein Tag auf Peljesac

Mittwoch, 07. April

Heute schlafe ich bis der Wecker um 6:30 Uhr klingelt. Als ich aus dem Zelt guck, hab ich eine tolle Aussicht auf das Meer und den Weinberg. Erstmal wasche ich mich. Heute hab ich ja genug Wasser. Dann packe ich die Sachen zusammen, baue das Zelt ab und belade mein Fahrrad. Um 10 bin ich startklar und schiebe das Rad wieder zurück auf die Straße. Dort frühstücke ich erstmal. Müsli.

Um 11 fahre ich weiter. Die Aussicht auf das Meer ist herrlich. Um 11:30 Uhr erreiche ich den Ort Žuljana. Am Ortsrand setze ich mich mit dem Tablet auf meinen Rucksack und schreibe den Bericht von gestern. Das dauert sehr lange. Bis ich weiter fahre, ist es 14:45 Uhr. Ich komme durch eine wunderschöne Küstenlsndschaft. Später bin ich wieder auf der Bundesstraße. Gegen 16:30 Uhr erreiche ich den Ort Putnikovići. Hier ist ein kleines Lebensmittelgeschäft. Vor dem Laden treffe ich 2 Männer, die gerade mehrere 5 l Wasserkanister gekauft haben. Das erinnert mich daran, dass ich ja auch einen Kanister brauche. Ich frage im Geschäft danach. Und ich hab Glück. Die sind gerade im Angebot. Ein leerer Kanister kostet nur 5 Kuna. Das ist sehr günstig. Ich frage die Verkäuferin, ob sie ihn mir mit Wasser auffällt. Sie sagt, dass auf der anderen Straßenseite ein öffentlicher Wasseranschluss ist. Ich kaufe noch Lebensmittel und Getränke. Dann gehe ich rüber, um den Kanister aufzufüllen. Dort hängt ein Schlauch. Also schiebe ich das Rad rüber und mache den 10 l Kanister voll. Jetzt bin ich wieder mit allem versorgt.

Ich fahre dann noch eine ganze Weile und folge der Bundesstraße. Jetzt komme ich durch eine Gegend, in der viel Straßen- und Landschaftsbau ist.

Etwa ab 18 Uhr gucke ich mich nach einem Zeltplatz für die Nacht um. Aber das ist heute recht schwierig. Auf beiden Seiten der Straße  geht es steil hoch oder bergab. Etwa um 19:15 Uhr komme ich links an einem Feldweg vorbei. Der endet nach einem Stück vor einem Weinberg. Dort ist neben der Ruine von einem kleinen Gebäude ein idealer Platz zum Zeiten Ich baue mein Zelt auf. Als ich es gerade einräumen, fängt ganz in der Nähe ein Hund an zu bellen. Und es ist sehr nah! Der Hund hat mich offenbar bemerkt. Immer wenn ich ganz ruhig bin und mich nicht bewegen, ist der Hund auch ruhig. Sobald ich weiter die Sachen ins Zelt packe, bellt er wieder. Irgendwann höre ich laut und deutlich einen Mann, der den Hund reinruft. Ich bin offenbar ganz in der Nähe von einem Haus. Ich kann es im Dunkeln hinter den Büschen aber nicht sehen. Zumindest ist jetzt Ruhe. Ich packe den Rest ins Zelt und esse noch schnell eine Kleinigkeit. Um Ärger zu vermeiden, sollte ich morgen ganz früh hier weg sein. Ich stelle mir den Wecker auf 6 Uhr. Ab etwa 22:30 Uhr schlafe ich.

Ich bin heute etwa 25 km gefahren.

Wednesday, 07 April

Today I sleep until the alarm clock rings at 6:30. When I look out of the tent, I have a great view of the sea and the vineyard. First I wash myself. I have enough water today. Then I pack my things, take down the tent and load my bike. At 10 I am ready to go and push the bike back onto the road. There I have breakfast. Muesli.

At 11 I ride on. The view of the sea is magnificent. At 11:30 I reach the village of Žuljana. At the edge of the village I sit down with my tablet on my backpack and write yesterday's report. It takes a long time. By the time I drive on, it is 14:45. I pass through a beautiful coastal landscape. Later I am back on the main road. Around 16:30 I reach the village of Putnikovići. There is a small grocery shop here. In front of the shop I meet 2 men who have just bought several 5 l water canisters. This reminds me that I also need a canister. I ask for one in the shop. And I am lucky. They are on sale at the moment. An empty canister costs only 5 kuna. That's very cheap. I ask the shop assistant if she can find me some water. She says that there is a public water supply on the other side of the street. I buy some food and drinks. Then I go over to fill up the jerrycan. There is a hose hanging there. So I push the bike over and fill up the 10-litre canister. Now I am supplied with everything again.

I ride for quite a while and follow the main road. Now I pass through an area where there is a lot of road construction and landscaping.

From about 6pm I look around for a campsite for the night. But that is quite difficult today. On both sides of the road it is steeply uphill or downhill. At about 19:15 I pass a dirt road on the left. It ends after a bit in front of a vineyard. There, next to the ruins of a small building, is an ideal place to rest. Just as I was putting it away, a dog started barking nearby. And it's very close! The dog has obviously noticed me. Whenever I am very quiet and don't move, the dog is quiet too. As soon as I continue packing things into the tent, he barks again. At some point I hear a man loud and clear calling the dog in. I am obviously very close to a house. But I can't see it in the dark behind the bushes. At least it is quiet now. I pack the rest into the tent and quickly eat a snack. To avoid trouble, I should be out of here very early tomorrow. I set my alarm clock for 6am. From about 22:30 I sleep.

I have cycled about 25 km today.
