Von Mrkopalj zu den Ruinen

Um 6:30 Uhr klingelt der Wecker. Da ich fast kein Wasser mehr habe, „wasche“ ich mich mit Feuchttüchern.

ich aus dem Zelt gucke, sehe ich, dass ich im Wald bin. Der Boden ist mit einer dicken Laubschicht bedeckt. Ich packe meine Sachen zusammen, baue das Zelt ab, und belade das Fahrrad. Um 9:15 Uhr schiebe ich es aus dem Wald zurück auf die Straße. Bis zu meinem nächsten Zwischenziel Rijeka sind es noch knapp 60 km.

Nach wenigen Minuten erreiche ich den Ort Mrkopalj. In der Ortsmitte ist eine Bushaltestelle. Hier mache ich ab 9:30 Uhr eine längere Pause. Ich frühstücke Müsli mit Banane. Außerdem fülle ich an der Wasserstelle meinen Kanister auf. Dann lade ich den Bericht und die Fotos von meinem Tour Start nach der Winterpause.

Um etwa 14 Uhr fahre ich weiter. Gegen 12:20 Uhr verlasse ich Mrkopalj und erreiche wenige Minuten später den Ort Sunger. Diesen verlasse ich um 13:20 Uhr. Und komme fast direkt in den Urlaubsort Brestova Draga. Hier fallen mir viele verlassene und zerfallene Häuser auf. Es gibt aber auch tolle Ferienhäuser. Auf mich wirkt dieser Ort seltsam. Es sind krasse Gegensätze. Etwa um 14:30 Uhr verlasse ich Brestova Draga. Komoot führt mich jetzt über Waldwege in Richtung Slavica / Vrata. Es geht steil bergauf. Ich schiebe. Und ich komme im Wald an vielen Ruinen vorbei. Hier waren Wohnhäuser. Aber auch größere Gebäude wie Kirchen. Jetzt ist diese Gegend komplett verlassen. Ich schiebe das Fahrrad stundenlang durch eine bizarre Ruinenlandschaft. Immer wieder erkunde ich einzelne Ruinen. Und mache viele Fotos.

Später wird die Steigung moderat, so dass ich fahren kann. Etwa um 17:30 Uhr erreiche ich eine Lichtung. Es wird gerade dunkel. Wieder baue ich mit dem letzten Tageslicht das Zelt auf.

Ich bin noch kurz im Internet und trinke meine Zitrone.

Auch heute schlafe ich recht früh.

Ich bin heute knapp 13 km gefahren. Beziehungsweise hab das Rad geschoben.

From Mrkopalj to the ruins

The alarm clock rings at 6:30 am. As I am almost out of water, I "wash" myself with wet towels.

When I look out of the tent, I see that I am in the forest. The ground is covered with a thick layer of leaves. I pack up my things, take down the tent, and load the bike. At 9:15 am I push it out of the forest back onto the road. It's still about 60 km to my next stopover in Rijeka.

After a few minutes I reach the village of Mrkopalj. There is a bus stop in the centre of the village. Here I take a longer break from 9:30am. I have breakfast of muesli and banana. I also fill up my canister at the water point. Then I upload the report and the photos of my tour start after the winter break.

At about 2 pm I continue. At about 12:20 I leave Mrkopalj and reach the village of Sunger a few minutes later. I leave the village at 13:20. I arrive almost directly in the holiday resort of Brestova Draga. Here I notice many abandoned and dilapidated houses. But there are also great holiday homes. This place seems strange to me. There are stark contrasts. At about 14:30 I leave Brestova Draga. Komoot now leads me along forest paths in the direction of Slavica / Vrata. It is steeply uphill. I push. And I pass many ruins in the forest. There were houses here. But also bigger buildings like churches. Now this area is completely deserted. I push the bicycle for hours through a bizarre landscape of ruins. Again and again I explore individual ruins. And take many photos.

Later, the gradient becomes moderate, so that I can ride. At about 17:30 I reach a clearing. It is just getting dark. Again I put up the tent with the last daylight.

I briefly check the Internet and drink my lemon.

Also today I sleep quite early.

I rode about 13 km today. Or rather, I pushed the bike.
